February Thaw

Somewhere came the slow sound of bells,
and in its softness
I see the buttercups of spring.

Whitened, ageless, the four elms
have learned to wait,
and through the trickle of melting snow
they soar into the mist.

Thaw...I must say I like the sound of that! I understand that Chinese New Year is the start of Spring and I am holding on to that thought! Beautiful poem. I'm glad I found your site.
